I have not found anything in Windows 10 that does not work with this configuration. Not sure it's a solution for everyone, but well worth a try. This of course was a good solution for the dv2620us notebook as well as the hardware msddjd was concerned with. Once that was accomplished and all the warnings about display issues were dismissed I downloaded and installed the original Vista/Win7 Nvidia display drivers for this computer.
The only additional step I found necesary was to install Windows 10 via an ISO image because Microsoft refused to allow automatic update for this platform (dv2620us). In that post the simple answer was to just reinstall the original Nvidia drivers. I found a solution to the Nvidia GeForce 7150/nForce630M driver issues posted by "msddjd" titled Can't find GeForce 7150M/nForce 630 M Driver for Windows 10. SDF15, it has been a while since we last conversed. Re: Windows 10 Upgrade for a notebook Nvidia Geforce 7150/NForce 630M Would appreciate any feedback someone might have to solve this problem. The link was to a UK site, so I'm thinking I'm not comfortable to do that for my machine, at least not yet. I did look at the forum and the only thing I found was a "solved" instance from Scott1234, but it was for a 32 bit installation and had some bugs (see below). So, if HP is unwilling to make the update it seems to be catch 22, I probably can't upgrade (for one of the nicest notebooks ever made) to Windows 10 because there is no video driver compatible.
Nvidia states that the notebook manufacturer has to make the update, which kind of makes sense to me. I checked to see if HP had an update for this driver and found that the recommended solution was to go to Nvidia. Windows 10 upgrade states that this computer is not compatible due to the Nvidia display. I know I've had this discussion before, but I was hoping someone would have an update or new discovery.
